Avanza

Avanza is an interactive emissions calculator and web-based data tool developed by the civic organization Bicitekas. The tool operates by converting complex commuting surveys from corporate employees into clear, actionable climate metrics engineered for workplace mobility planning.

I directed the comprehensive art strategy, brand identity, user interface design (UI/UX), and custom illustration system. I spearheaded the visual execution in close collaboration with graphic designer Montserrat Tecontero, whom I directly managed and reviewed. My strategic focus was designing an interface architecture that would turn the raw technical product into a highly compelling, enterprise-ready service.

Approach

The core challenge revolved around data literacy. While the algorithmic backend was already built, the raw numerical outputs were highly illegible for human resource managers and corporate executives who are not data analysts.

I engineered a responsive user interface centered entirely on cognitive clarity and scannability. I built a cohesive system within Figma utilizing clean data blocks, simplified modular charts, and custom vector illustrations to visually frame carbon footprints and emissions data. This converted intimidating, raw statistical parameters into accessible executive summaries designed for intuitive multi-device interaction.

The Outcome

The visual overhaul and interface design functioned directly as a catalyst for enterprise scaling, successfully securing high-level commercial adoption. Mobility ADO, one of Mexico's largest and most prominent transport corporations, officially contracted the tool from the NGO Bicitekas.

The digital platform was launched successfully as a live operational tool at the massive TAPO terminal hub in Mexico City, with scalable interface modules currently being deployed to expand the strategy nationally across all corporate headquarters and regional sites.
