Laintersección.net was launched to counter the "Hatred International"—the systemic digital network of disinformation, toxic narratives, and weaponized online polarization. The strategic creative challenge was to design a user-centered digital environment built to empower diverse grassroots movements to safely analyze, construct, and deploy effective collective counter-narratives.
I engineered the entire digital product from scratch, managing the full lifecycle from early concept workshops and comprehensive user journey mapping to iterative wireframing, complete UI/UX architecture, and the foundation of their scalable digital identity system.
Approach and Identity
The visual identity came from the idea of a mathematical intersection: a diverse alliance that meets at a common point without homogenising into one voice.
Vendor management and direction
For the development phase I took on interviewing, contracting, supervising and directing the external frontend developer, keeping delivery times and the visual fidelity of the final product.
Security-Driven UI/UX Design
A critical product requirement was engineering a high-security user registration flow and database interface architecture to guarantee the platform runs as a resilient, encrypted digital safe space against coordinated online trolling. I delivered a comprehensive, responsive component library within Figma, establishing clear interaction design states and strict typography tokens for developer hand-off.
Development
The outcome
Laintersección.net works on digital hate research, with large-scale quantitative analysis of trans narratives on Twitter and Facebook. The clarity of the information architecture made it possible to process, structure and present that data in a readable way, and its reports are cited in Spanish academic literature and have been referenced in national media such as Radio Nacional de España.
Four years after launch, the organisation runs on its own. The system lets the in-house team of communicators, researchers and activists scale interfaces themselves and roll out training microsites, such as their green taxation projects with Oxfam Intermón, without needing a designer on retainer.
