Cuerpo-Travesía

In collaboration with:

Javier Vaquero y Marina Santo

Place:

Madrid

Year:

2025

This fanzine was created as part of the Cuerpo-Travesía project, coordinated by Javier Vaquero and Marina Santo with the support of Intermediae Matadero. The challenge was to translate the raw, spontaneous visual material created by participants during the workshops — drawings, fragments, gestures — into an editorial piece that respected their authorship without imposing a predetermined form.

The design decision was to organise without correcting: to keep the spontaneity of the illustrations and build a structure that holds them without imposing on them.

Being in the room for one of the sessions made that possible. It gave me first-hand access to the group's energy and to the kind of expressiveness worth preserving. Facilitating part of that session, through drawing exercises, let me get to know the group better and produced material that ended up in the fanzine.

The result is an editorial piece where design steps back so the participants' voices stay at the center.
